I love doing scenes, they keep me feeling motivated when I'm painting.

Finally finished up this speedie, stupid CS2 brushes kept freezing on me until I grabbed an update fix. I still get lag, but only with the more bigger and complex brushes.

I don't really have much other than small nitpicky crits.

The movement is excellent and your use of loose brushwork for details is something I really love and wish I could do better.

My favourite element (no pun here) of this pic is the detail you put into the water, especially under the boys where the splashing is detailed from the harsh foot imprints to the tiny drops from the resulting splashes.

so the nitpicks:

the rocks in the dirt and the water seem to be around the same shape as well as the same colours. I would vary up the hues to make them stand out just a little bit.

also , i love the dramatic back lighting, but maybe would have shown just a little bit more of the background to really emphasise the depth.

It's beautiful! I'd like to be able to do such "speedies" lol! It looks like a finished piece!

excellent painting! Here's my two cents: you did a great job of placing values on the figures, especially their skin. I think the figure on the right needs darker shadow on his pants, with stronger highlights, to match the variation in skin values. the water also needs more contrast to emphasize the light.

Wow, they're really going at it! It looks like it's not really play but they really are fighting! I can see it in the boy facing us's face.
Nicely done, though. great use of brushes in the environment!
