The overall concept in my head was to make female humanoid-snake/dragon hybrids coming out of eggs, the idea came from mixing mythical creatures like the kirin with a couple of insect carapices. As bodily fluids from the newly born creatures are exposed to the air, it hardens into scales and claws.
I even had a backstory for this and everything, but delving into it for a 60 second presentation would require speed talking and uber tongue twisting ability of the highest calibre.

Awesome! I love the creature design and the overall creepy-ness, and also your color selection. What really makes this for me is the one on the left. Her position kind of offsets the creepy and gives it a little bit of sexy, and I like how the splash shows movement. Just a really neat piece.
